Checking in.....

During the past few months,I have made several personal appearances for various charities. In particular my regular involvement in feeding those in need at The Los Angeles Mission during the Easter holiday was again a fulfilling event. Also, I was honored to be part of a delegation led by our Mayor visiting our Congressmen and Senators in behalf of the entertainment industry. I will again be hosting advocacy day in Washington DC for the ALS Association on Mother's day weekend.

Now that Esther's daughter, Kate, aka, Chloe is married and provided Esther with a beautiful grandaughter named Cordelia, (Delia for short), and that scum Roger has left the scene, I now have some time to update all of you.

We finally have put together a facebook page for all of you. The one with the picture in front of my Star is the only official fan facebook page. There are numerous pages that have not been authorized by me. You may also access it through my website and myspace page.

The Young and The Restless Fan Club Gala will be held August 28, 2009. It is an evening event this year at The Sheraton Universal. Look for more info to appear on my website.

I also do a Tea in Vancouver Canada every year and should have more details soon.

The show has been absolutely terrific. Look for more surprises to happen in the future. Please keep your letters coming. As I so enjoy hearing from all of you. Do any of you twitter? Do you think this is something that you would like to be part of?

Till next time, thank you all for your support.

The end of another year

Thanksgiving has come & gone & I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. With the holiday season upon us, it's important not to forget what this time of year is ultimately about: family, friends and football. I hope you had a great 2008 in spite of our financial problems. I just can't believe that it is 2009. They say that the years go by faster as you get older. They may go faster but I refuse to get older.

So, as you prepare for your holidays, I have included my special chocolate recipe that is a great tailgating drink. One for warm weather tailgating (like here in Southern California) and one for cold weather tailgating.

Hot 'n' Spikey Texican Tailgate Cocoa
4 oz. of light rum, silver tequila or Kahlua
1 cup whole milk
1 cup half-and-half
6 tsp. of sugar
1 oz. semisweet chocolate chopped into small pieces
1 oz. unsweetened chocolate chopped into small pieces
1 Tbs. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cinnamon sticks

Preparation: I suggest that you prepare this the morning of the event, storing and then serving it out of an insulated container at the tailgate site. The morning before leaving for the event:
Mix milk, half-and-half, sugar, finely chopped chocolate and brown sugar all together in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Do not bring to a boil, but allow chocolate and sugar to melt and dissolve until they get hot.
Reduce heat.
Place half of this mixture into a blender and mix to a frothy consistency.
Pour this back into your pan.
Stir in your vanilla extract.
At the tailgate party site:
Fill your partygoers' cups with 2 ounces of rum, tequila or Kahlua
Pour in hot chocolate from thermos or jug.
Stir with a cinnamon stick.

Texican Tailgate Cocoa Freeze
Ingredients: 2 oz. of light rum, silver tequila or Kahlua
6 half-oz. pieces of finely chopped chocolate
2 tsp. store-bought hot chocolate mix
1-1/2 tbs. sugar
1-1/2 cups milk
3 cups ice
Whipped cream Chocolate shavings

Preparation:
Place the chopped chocolate in the top half of double boiler over water.
Stir until chocolate is melted.
Add hot chocolate mix and sugar and stir until blended.
Remove from heat and slowly add 1/2 cup of milk, stirring until smooth.
Cool to room or lukewarm temperature.
In a blender, add the rest of the milk and the lukewarm chocolate mixture.
Add liquor of your choice.
Add ice and blend on high speed until smooth.
Pour into your cup and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

What did you think of the big reveal about Chloe being Kate? I know when I first read my script I was shocked. I couldn't believe that my Kate was all grown up, pregnant , and renamed Chloe. The assumed death of Mrs. C has sent shock waves through Genoa City. It affected me as though it was for real. I will be anxious to see what is coming up not only, about Mrs. C, but also Chloe.

I'd like to personally thank all my loyal fans who continue to support me and who have been with me throughout my career. It still amazes me that I've been part of the Y&R family for over 26 years.

It's been a pleasure to get to meet and speak with many of you who have attended my personal appearances. I hope you all enjoy my website and myspace page and I look forward to seeing you all again in 2009.

As we enter the New Year, let's be thankful for what we have and maintain our freedom and ability to recover from these difficult times. Wishing you and your loved ones a very Healthy, Happy, Prosperous, and Peaceful 2009.

All of my love,
Kate Linder

Checking in....

Receiving a Star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 10th was an overwhelming experience. I am still in awe and so grateful to my fans for their ongoing support. You're all a part of the Star which is located one block west of Mann's Chinese Theater at 7021 Hollywood Blvd.

Ron, my husband, and I have been very busy participating in many charity events, including my annual High Tea in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. This year for Breast Cancer was the 10th year and the biggest and best yet. I had a chance to reach many fans by appearing on local television and radio. Christian LeBlanc was a spectacular host of the Tea. He introduced all the participants from The Young and The Restless, moderated questions from the audience and auctioneered the most successful fundraising of the Tea's history. He brought to the charity several thousands of dollars alone in auctioning his beautiful art pieces.

My other fellow actors were also incredibly giving with their time and energy to greet every fan at the tea. We were particularly grateful for the presence of our Associte Producer, Josh O'Connell, and our fabulous Emmy award winning makeup artist, Patti Denney, and incredible hair stylist, George Guzman.

Continue watching the show, lots of good story ahead.

Receiving a STAR

Dear Fans,

Were you surprised about Esther being back in uniform? I was very surprised when I read it in the script. While Esther enjoyed being in regular clothes, she is most comfortable in her uniform. Let me know what you think? Things will be happening - Keep watching.

As you may know, I am receiving a STAR on The Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 10, 2008. The ceremony will begin at 11:30 AM. at 7021 Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood, just west of the Hollywood & Highland Complex. April 8th is my 26th anniversary on The Young and The Restless, so there is a lot to celebrate. The star will be located between those of Eric Braeden and Erik Estrada. The ceremony is open to the public and I would love to see as many of you as possible as you are definitely part of this celebration.

Thank you for your continued friendship and support. None of this would be happening without you. See you on April 10th!

Love,

Kate

Happy New Year

Dear Fans

What a year it's been so far (and it's only a week old!). A lot has happened over the past few months. I starred in a film, participated in a USO tour, made several personal appearances, and lent my support of many holiday charity events. More details on these activities to follow.

I want to wish each & every one of you & your families a HAPPY NEW YEAR! This past year has been one of the best for me and I hope for you too.

I could not have done it without you. I promise to provide a fun, enlightening, & continually updated website for all of you. I check the website and my official myspace page on a regular basis & enjoy hearing from you. I also promise that in 2008 I will continue to check in with you, post updates & let you know what is going on with me.

To a Happy & Healthy 2008

Back from Vancouver..

I'm back from Vancouver and thanks to all who attended, the Tea was a huge success! I want to personally thank my Y&R co-stars Christian LeBlanc, Tracey Bregman, and Daniel Goddard and, from the Y&R hair and make-up dept., Patti Denney and George Guzman. I especially want to thank all the fans who came out this year. It was our biggest response yet with over 300 people. To all of you who bid on auction items, thank you, and I hope the winners of the auction items enjoy your purchases knowing that you donated to an excellent cause that is very close to my heart. We raised over $20,000 for ALS just in auction items alone! Christian LeBlanc, thank you for donating not two but THREE of your hand-painted limited edition drawings. Tracey, thank you again for coming even though you had a very early flight home on Sunday. Daniel, even though you had a rough start to the weekend (the airline lost his luggage), you were a huge hit with the fans and your son, Ford, was a trouper and terrific. Patti and George, thank you for donating that 2nd makeover. The second person couldn't have been more thrilled.

The dinners at Cin Cin and The Cannery were well received and a good time was had by all. The view from The Cannery was incredible. It was amazing to have dinner on the water than look up into the mountains and see snow!

I hope all of you had as much fun as we did, all for a good cause. It was nice to see some old familiar faces from past Teas and a lot of new faces. Until next year, which will be our 10th annual Tea, ALS, Robin Wyss & I thank everyone involved in this event. I look forward to hearing from all of you.
